'Adventures in Acrylics'
...in Snowdonia with Brush-Strokes

Organised by ‘Brush-Strokes’, the venue is a comfortable converted chapel in the village of Dolwyddelan near Betws-y-Coed where an exciting programme of painting breaks is run throughout the year. The groups are kept small so everyone receives individual attention.

For my 4th year at Brush-Strokes, I am offering a 4-day course painting in acrylics. This course is a fun, creative approach to using acrylics, canvas, papers, texture and much more. Carole's enthusiasm and creative experience allows everyone to enjoy the strength and flexibility of acrylics. You will learn methods of handling the medium, creative use of colour and layering. Students will create representational and non-representational finished works. You will receive daily demonstrations although this is not a demonstration-led course – students are encouraged to put their own personal stamp on the subject. Individual critiques and one-on-one help included.

Content includes sketching in and around the area of Dolwydellan, paintings from a sketchbook, working with a limited palete and compositional planning.

"My aim is to explore and create an emotional response and in doing so, encourage the viewer to explore and tap into their own imagination and creativity."

Date: Monday 28 April - Thursday 1 May 2008
Cost: £188
