Clear Light Bursts was inspired by a quiet September dawn in Haraki, Rhodes. I climbed to a high viewpoint before sunrise and watched the last glow of the moon sink into the sea while the sun, rising behind me, began to tint the water with soft pink light. The morning was warm, still and full of calm — that gentle moment when night and day briefly share the sky. After revisiting the painting years later, I’ve reworked it to better capture the serenity, glow and spaciousness I felt standing there, surrounded by light and silence.
